Ebanks-Blake set for Preston bow

Preston could hand a debut to Sylvan Ebanks-Blake when Norwich visit Deepdale.

On Thursday the striker signed a deal until the end of the season with North End, who have no new injury worries and hope to welcome back winger Kyel Reid from illness.

Bailey Wright (groin) was back on the bench last Sunday while fellow defender David Buchanan (hamstring) is also fully-fit again.

That leaves just long-term absentees Joe Garner and Jordan Hugill (both knee) on the sidelines, but on-loan striker Jermaine Beckford does have permission to play in this competition.

Norwich will monitor the fitness of defender Carlos Cuellar ahead of the trip.

Cuellar missed the 2-1 defeat at Reading on Sunday with a calf injury, so Ryan Bennett stepped in to make his first appearance since August.

Boss Neil Adams may opt to start with Wes Hoolahan and Nathan Redmond, both half-time substitutes at the Madejski Stadium, while more changes could be made.

Goalkeeper Declan Rudd, on loan at Preston last season, began the two League Cup ties this season but it remains to be seen whether Adams continues with that policy for this competition.
