King missing for Preston

Preston will have to do without Jack King when they go in search of their first win of the season at home to MK Dons in Sky Bet League One.

The 27-year-old will require surgery on a fractured foot after a scan revealed he could be out for up to 10 weeks.

Meanwhile, boss Simon Grayson is hopeful both Iain Hume and Stuart Beavon will be available for selection after missing last week's goalless draw at Rotherham through injury.

Grayson's men are yet to register a goal in their first two league games and the return of both Hume and Beavon will be music to the ears of the former Leeds manager.

Full-back Jon Otsemobor is expected to be fit for MK Dons.

The former Liverpool trainee missed training on Thursday through illness but he should travel, along with on-loan Aston Villa midfielder Samir Carruthers who will re-join the squad on Friday following international duty with the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 side.

Captain Dean Lewington will remain absent, though, after it was confirmed by manager Karl Robinson that he would miss another game through a knee injury.

The left-back joins forwards Dean Bowditch (groin) and Daniel Powell (ankle) on the sidelines while Jason Banton is also a doubt with a knock sustained during the 1-0 home win over Crewe last weekend.
