Johnstone set for Preston bow

Sam Johnstone is in line to make his Preston debut against Leyton Orient on Friday night.

The on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper moved to Deepdale this week after cutting short his stay with Doncaster to engineer a switch to his hometown club.

Elsewhere, long-term injury absentees Jordan Hugill, Joe Garner and Andy Little all remain absent.

Without those three attacking options, Kevin Davies is likely to feature again and, should he do so, will make his 800th senior career appearance.

Orient skipper Nathan Clarke is fit after a groin injury and could start in defence.

Striker Darius Henderson is also close to returning following a foot injury but winger Jobi McAnuff is a couple of weeks away with an ankle problem.

Goalkeeper Adam Legzdins, forward Jay Simpson and midfielders Marvin Bartley and Lloyd James remain on the sidelines.

John Lundstram, back with the O's on loan from Everton, is poised to start in midfield after impressing as a half-time substitute during the 1-0 defeat by Fleetwood last weekend.
