Garner starts North End suspension

Preston boss Simon Grayson will be without Joe Garner for the clash with managerless Bristol City.

The striker begins a three-match ban after the red card which was initially shown to on-loan Bristol City midfielder Neil Kilkenny was transferred to him.

Kilkenny is expected to start once again after having his red card rescinded, while striker Stuart Beavon returns from a three-match suspension of his own.

Striker Iain Hume is in contention to deputise in Garner's absence.

Bristol City begin life without Sean O'Driscoll when they travel to Lancashire.

John Pemberton will take charge of the first team as the Robins look to build on Tuesday's 2-2 draw against leaders Leyton Orient.

City extended the loan deal of Millwall defender Karleigh Osborne until January 5 and he looks set to be involved again, while Pemberton will have to decide whether to stick with goalkeeper Elliot Parish after his midweek error or recall Frank Fielding.

Bobby Reid has missed the Robins' last two games with a hamstring problem and Pemberton confirmed he will miss out once again at Deepdale.
