Preston without Joe Garner and Eoin Doyle against Bournemouth
Preston will be without two first-choice strikers for Capital One Cup third-round visit of Bournemouth.
Joe Garner is banned after picking up his fifth booking of the campaign at Brentford on Saturday, while Eoin Doyle is cup-tied having already played for Cardiff in the competition.
The Lilywhites made five changes when they knocked out Bournemouth's fellow Premier League newcomers in the previous round.
Will Keane, Calum Woods, Chris Humphrey and Josh Brownhill will all be considered as manager Simon Grayson again ponders freshening up his XI.
Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald is keen to seize his chance to impress in Tuesday night's Capital One Cup trip to Preston.
MacDonald is one of a number of fringe players likely to be handed a rare starting berth as Cherries boss Eddie Howe gives a number of his Premier League regulars a rest.
Howe changed his entire team for the 4-0 second round win at Hartlepool and could do the same at Deepdale with MacDonald once again given an opportunity.
MacDonald told a press conference: "My professionalism is there and my attitude is right and it's about waiting for a chance and hopefully taking it when it comes along.
"We've got to be patient and the team he picks has to go out and perform. If they don't and the changes are made you have got to be ready.
"We're playing week in, week out against some very good teams and we want to keep in the manager's mind, so these cup games are quite important to get some minutes in."
The likes of Adam Federici, Adam Smith and Yann Kermorgant are likely to join MacDonald in the starting line-up having been named on the bench for Saturday's crucial 2-0 win over Sunderland.
And Cherries assistant boss Jason Tindall admitted the mood had improved significantly following the dominant performance and result against the Black Cats.
Tindall said: "What Saturday's result does is give everybody a lift and that bit of confidence that was probably lacking after the result and performance against Norwich.
"There will be a few changes made to the team as we have always done and the lads will get their opportunities and we have huge confidence they will go out and deliver.
"We always pick a team we believe is good enough to win the game. We've got a really good squad and we've got huge faith in them to get the result."
