The Whites looked to be cruising in their first Football League Trophy game for over a decade when duddenly two late goals meant a penalty shoot out beckoned.

North End went into an early lead which has been typical of recent away games. Mclean headed home his first for the club after two minutes before Tsoumou was clean through and doubled the lead after twenty minutes.

Preston appeared to be in control but then conceded two goals in the last ten minutes - one at the end of stoppage time. Arestidou appeared to be to blame for the first and may well be back to the bench shortly with Turner looking to be fit again sitting this one on the bench.

The match went to penalties and after several conversion along with the odd miss or three, Preston came out on top and now go intot he draw for the Northern Area quarter final. It's our first quarter final since... well... erm... time to celebrate then?
