Prestion have confirmed that they have opened contract talks with right back, Billy Jones who is out of contract next summer. Jones who cost the club £750,000 from Crewe three and a half years ago has rarely fulfilled his potential at Deepdale after being a part of the national under 21 squad. He is now part of the leakiest defence in the division. Preston have several players out of contract next summer and it is thought the majority will be released to shed the wage bill but a decision has been taken to keep Jones at the club. Whether he decides to sign a contract remains to be seen with a potnetial move away in January the last chance North End have to cash in on the defender.
