Preston skipper Tom Clarke misses out against Norwich

Preston captain Tom Clarke is unavailable as Preston host Norwich in a match both teams must win to keep alive their slim Sky Bet Championship play-off hopes.

Clarke suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in North End's dramatic loss to Huddersfield and boss Simon Grayson fears the injury could even sideline the centre-back into next season.

Fellow defender Alex Baptiste serves the second game of a three-match ban after he was sent off against Leeds last Saturday.

Jordan Hugill made a goalscoring return from concussion against Huddersfield.

Norwich will assess Swiss defender Timm Klose ahead of the trip.

Klose was substituted at half-time in Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Fulham at Carrow Road with a knee injury and replaced by Ryan Bennett, who conceded a penalty within two minutes of the restart.

Striker Cameron Jerome came off the bench to score his 16th goal of the season and is now eyeing a start as is Josh Murphy, who took over from twin brother Jacob against the Cottagers.

Steven Naismith and Yanic Wildschut were unused subs but may come into contention from the start with changes expected for a second match in four days.
