The 26-year-old has started the last five matches and has become an integral part of the Preston team since signing from Wolves on deadline day.
And the former Sunderland defender is looking to getting back to winning ways after defeat to QPR at the weekend.
"People say every game in the Championship is hard, which is true, but we have had a lot of quite good fixtures from the start of the season and now we have got tough fixtures and that's the way it is," he told the club's official website.
"To have two away games is tough, but it is a 46-game season and that is part and parcel of it.
"You need to deal with it and I don't think anyone is flinching from the fact we have to do that."
