PNE defender devastated by defeat
The 24-year-old was frustrated with the result and believes North End could have sneaked a win to give themselves a chance of reaching the Premier League.
He told the club's official website: "I'm just devastated. I've got more weeks in me to carry on playing football, but it's now a case of having to go away and think before coming back on July 1 when all the boys will want to start again and go that one step further.
"I'm disappointed and numb. I don't even think we were beaten by the better side really, I don't know.
"I think the game was there to be grasped by both hands, but we didn't turn up, really.
"People say that it's a great achievement to have got here, but you don't see it as a great achievement when you wanted to go further."
