The completion of the Invincibles Pavilion helped to ensure a 21,273 crowd for the match against Blackpool to give the Lilywhites their biggest home league attendance in more than 35 years. Preston's average league attendance was 13,782, compared to 12,752 the previous year. General manager Ben Rhodes said: "Once again this club's fans have proven that they are the best in the business by turning up in large numbers. "We have had some really attractive fixtures at Deepdale this season, but the fans have turned up week-in week-out and they've been rewarded by seeing the best home record in the Football League. "The performance of Alan Irvine's team has provided plenty of optimism for the 2009/10 campaign and this is reflected in the steady rise in season-ticket holders throughout the summer."
