PNE chairman rebuffs Irvine exit talk
Fellow beaten play-off semi-finalists Reading are in the market for a new manager after Steve Coppell's resignation earlier this month.
But Shaw has denied reports the Royals have made an approach for Irvine about the vacancy at the Madejski Stadium.
Shaw told the Lancashire Evening Post: "Alan is under contract with us and I don't want to get sucked into talking about speculation."
