It is now thought that Palace may not sign the striker. Proctor featured in a pre-season friendly for Palace against Welling and whilst Dougie Freedman likes the look of Proctor he stated that the youngster is short of match fitness which is no surprise having been outcasted from all first team activities at Preston in pre-season.
Palace are short of options up front but might wait for Proctor to get fully fit before negotiating terms. They also appear to be put off by the fact that Preston will seek a fee for any transfer.
