North West Clubs Chase Lonergan
The national press are reporting that Man City and Wigan are chasing Andy Lonergan this transfer window in an attempt to prize the stopper away from Deepdale. City have been linked previously with Lonergan and with Given looking like he could move away from Eastlands, City see Lonergan as a good back up. However, Wigan also appear to be in the race to sign the keeper. It is believed that Preston could off load their number one for around £750,000 in order to raise funds for new manager, Phil Brown.
