The Scottish midfielder sustained suspected fractured ribs in Saturday's victory over Coventry and had to be replaced in the 58th minute at Deepdale. But Nicholson, who has suffered a similar injury in the past, has not given up hope of making it back before the end of the campaign. "The physios and the doctors have all told me that it will be four weeks of total rest to make sure the fracture has totally healed," he told the club's official site. "Normally I'm a quick healer so if I can keep myself fit within the next four to six weeks then you never know I might get back before the end. "I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the boys can do well and we can get into the play-offs and I can hopefully be back for that."
