North End keen to extend Jones deal

Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay has revealed the club want to open talks with defender Billy Jones over a new contract. The right-back's existing deal expires at the end of the season and he could leave Deepdale on a free transfer next summer if new terms cannot be agreed. Yet Lindsay told the Evening Post: "I know Billy Jones knows we want to keep him at Preston. "We are trying to get hold of his agent to sort something out, and we'll take things from there."
