North End hopeful of De Laet stay

Preston boss Darren Ferguson admitted he has spoken to his father Sir Alex about the future of on-loan defender Ritchie De Laet from Manchester United.The 22-year-old arrived in November on an emergency loan and has impressed in his three appearances so far. [LNB]Ferguson told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We've had a conversation. We're hopeful that we could extend his loan, possibly until the end of the season. [LNB]"He's got pace, can play anywhere in the back four and has done well." [LNB]De Laet has made six appearances for Manchester United since his transfer from Stoke City in January 2009. [LNB]He has also spent time on-loan with Sheffield United this season.
