North End held to draw by Dragons

The Welshmen had the better of the first half, with Mansour Assoumani's fifth-minute header separating the sides at half-time. But a re-invigorated North End came out to dominate the second half, and Richard Chaplow headed in on the hour to level the score. Preston almost stole a win in the dying minutes with strikers Chris Brown and Jon Parkin both going close. North End midfielder Darren Carter is pleased with the progress being made, telling the club's official website: "It's been great the way we've worked up the pre-season games. "We've stepped the level up each game and now the next two games will be tough against Premiership teams and Premiership quality players."
