The 31-year-old is fourth on the club's all-time appearance list and played a key role in Alan Irvine's side's run to the play-offs. Former Preston manager Billy Davies was linked with a £600,000 move to bring McKenna to Forest and Shaw has confirmed the interest. Shaw told the club's official website: "I'm disappointed that a club of Nottingham Forest's stature feels that they have to do their business through the media. "I can confirm that Preston North End did receive two bids from Nottingham Forest for Paul McKenna but both bids have been rejected by the club."
