Nolan shining in centre - Irvine
The Irish left-back, 21, was given his first start in the centre of defence during Monday's 1-1 draw at derby rivals Blackpool.[LNB]Nolan only got his chance at Bloomfield Road because Liam Chilvers was unwell and his performance earned him a ringing endorsement from his manager.[LNB]Irvine said: "Eddie did very well, he was a centre-half as a young player, and you wonder whether he's big enough for the Championship, which requires different qualities.[LNB]"He's perhaps good enough to be a Premiership centre half. He did very well in the game and we're delighted."[LNB][LNB]
