No Reason Why PNE Shouldn't Scout Non-League Talent

Chairman Peter Ridsdale insists the 'wheels are in motion' with regards to new players incoming but are North End about to dip into the non-league talent pool?

With a major overhaul needed at Deepdale it goes without saying that wholesale changes are afoot.

Manager Graham Westley has said that he will need to make 'stellar' signings in order to steer North End back to the Championship and has this week brought in Tranmere skipper John Welsh.

However, amongst rumours of Woking's Jack King joining the ranks, is Graham Westley about to land one of King's fellow non-league midfielders?

Braintree Town's Jai Reason, 22, is out of contract this summer and has been linked with a move to Deepdale.

The former Ipsiwch trainee hasn't been offered a new deal with the Essex outfit but is targeting a return to the football league.

Reason posted on his Twitter this afternoon that he was returning from holiday to hold talks: "Last day here. Get back home to start some talks".

However, in response to the rumours that said talks were with Preston North End, Reason was quick to quash any links: "First I've heard about PNE great club and manager".

Reason has had also spells at Cambridge and Crawley and has represented England's C team.
