Nicholson keen on North End stay
Preston midfielder Barry Nicholson is hoping to sign a new contract at Deepdale despite the club's relegation from the npower Championship.
North End are gearing up for life in League One after a miserable campaign but Nicholson is keen to stay.
He told the club's official website: "I hope something can be sorted quickly. I have made it perfectly clear that this is where I want to be and this is where I want to stay.
"My agent has only met once with the chairman, they had a brief chat and hopefully we can sit down in the next couple of weeks before I go away at the end of May, and I can get something signed because I definitely want to stay."
