Nicholson In Talks

Phil Brown has admitted that the club have entered prelimiary talks with Barry Nicholson over staying beyond the end of the season. The midfielder who was out for almost 18 months prior to Brown's arrival has slotted in well into the Preston midfield alongside Ian Ashbee. The Scot has scored three in his last three and Brown has expressed a desire to keep Barry beyond the end of his contract which expires at the end of the season. There is likely to be a big clearout in the summer with Darren Carter set to leave on a free alongside Chris Brown, Wayne Brown and Callum Davidson. Others may well be sold on to create room on the wage bill and help Preston adjust to life financial should the inevitability of relegation come true.
