Mellor on cloud nine at Deepdale
The former Liverpool youngster has bagged five goals in all competitions for the Lillywhites, who are fourth in the early-season Championship table.
Mellor told the club's official website: "I've started reasonably well.
"I'm a striker who wants to score goals when I score goals it makes me happy, and the fact the team has had a good start to the season has been great as well.
"I could not have asked for a better start both for myself and the team."
