McKenna: Sir Tom in league of his own

20 April 2009 13:29
Long-serving McKenna equalled Finney's 472 appearances in Saturday's 6-0 demolition of play-off rivals Cardiff. North End's stunning win greatly enhanced their hopes of claiming a top-six finish and led to McKenna being compared to Finney. "It was nice to equal Sir Tom's appearance record," said McKenna after climbing to fifth in Preston's all-time rankings. "I think accolades like that are nice but I don't get too carried away with them. "I don't class myself as the same. He did it at a better level and I think most people would say he was a lot better."
