Mayor revelling in Preston debut

The Leyland-born teenager, who had a short spell on loan at Tranmere last season, came off the bench to play the last 20 minutes of the 4-2 reverse at Ashton Gate.

Although disappointed with the result, the 19-year-old says the experience of playing in the first-team has left him hungry for more action.

He told the club's official website: "I didn't know I was coming on so it was great to get the call-up it's just disappointing about the result.

"I'm a local lad so I really enjoyed it, I've been in and around the squad for a bit so to come on was brilliant.

"Hopefully I can make my home debut soon but it's up to the gaffer, he knows what he's doing and I'm just glad he gave me my chance."
