Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan believes the race for promotion from the npower Championship will be wide open this season. Middlesbrough, Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Reading and QPR are rated among the favourites to go up but Lonergan says Blackpool's shock rise to the top flight is encouraging for all Championship clubs. North End begin their campaign at home to Doncaster on Saturday and highly-rated Lonergan, 26, told the club's official website: "It is an open league this season but once again it comes down to which team has the most money because they can afford to buy the big players. "Yet there is no team like a West Brom or a Newcastle from last season but there are a lot like Blackpool, so it can be anyone`s."
