Lindsay: We had to treat fans fairly

Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay admits the club`s slide through the Championship trapdoor was behind their decision to slash ticket prices for next season. Phil Brown`s men are gearing up for life in League One after the club suffered their first relegation in 18 years. North End have cut adult season ticket prices from £365 to £275 and made a number of other reductions on tickets. Lindsay said: "We realise that we will suffer a considerable reduction of income but we must accept that as the price of relegation. "We could not expect our fans to pay last season's prices when we are no longer in the Championship. "It is our intention to rebuild the club from scratch and we are starting the process by making sure our fans are treated fairly when it comes to ticket pricing."
