The first round Northern Section sees all Championship clubs except Blackburn and Bolton and League One clubs up to 13th enter as a seeded team.
PNE who finished in 15th position will be ball number 11 in the unseeded part of the draw and will face one of the 16 teams below.

11 - Middlesborough

The Second Round sees Blackburn and Bolton join with the Premier League clubs not involved in Europe.
The First Round of the Capital One Cup starts w/c 13th August, a few days prior to the start of the 2012/13 season on 18th August.
