Khumalo missing for North End

Preston defender Bongani Khumalo has been ruled out of the home clash with Cardiff through injury. The South Africa international was forced out of the action in Saturday's 4-0 defeat at Millwall with a foot injury just before half-time. Teenager Bailey Wright replaced Khumalo and could make only his first league start for Phil Brown's side at Turf Moor. Another defender, Leon Cort, is hoping to be included in the squad following a nine-game absence due to a hamstring injury. He travelled with the Lilywhites to Millwall on Saturday, but was not included on the substitutes' bench. Fellow central defender Sean St Ledger, who has missed the last six matches with a knee injury, could also bolster Brown's back line. Striker Paul Parry may be included after his wife gave birth, but defender David Gray is out for the rest of the season with a fractured his leg. Preston must avoid defeat and hope fourth-bottom Crystal Palace do not beat Leeds if they are to go into the final two games with any hope of avoiding relegation.
