Johnson set for Preston debut

Preston boss Phil Brown is set to hand new signing Eddie Johnson his debut in the crunch home clash with relegation rivals Bristol City. The United States international joined the division's bottom club on loan from Fulham but was signed too late to play in Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat at Barnsley. Yet Brown has confirmed the American is in line to face City at Deepdale, leaving him with plenty of attacking options. At Oakwell he started with Leon Clarke, Nathan Ellington and Iain Hume in a three-pronged attack, although fellow forward Chris Brown remains sidelined with a knee injury . Clarke and Ian Ashbee should make their home debuts, but on-loan Blackburn midfielder Amine Linganzi remains sidelined with a groin injury.
