Matthew James is confident he can make the step up from Manchester United's reserves to playing in the Coca-Cola Championship with Preston. The England under-20 midfielder, 18, has agreed an emergency loan with North End until the end of the season. The Rochdale-born player said: "It's great coming from playing reserves to playing in the Championship. "It's a massive step but I feel that I am ready for it and the manager and the management at Old Trafford feel that I am ready for it as well. "I am just looking to impress everyone at Manchester United and we will take it from there."
