James craves Hume stay
Midfielder Matty James is hoping Preston can keep hold of fellow loanee Iain Hume past his initial 93-day loan agreement.
James, on loan from Manchester United, is hoping North End boss Darren Ferguson can tie up a permanent deal for the Barnsley front-man, despite only playing alongside him for one game due to injury.
James told the Lancashire Evening Post: "Saturday was the first time I've played with him and I was very impressed with him.
"He's a good player for us but he's a bit like myself in that he's on loan and the other club owns you - so it's out of your hands.
"I think it's still up in the air as to whether he's staying. Nobody knows what's happening."
