Irvine criticised over Trotman loan
Trotman has impressed since joining the League One side on loan in August while the Lilywhites have struggled at the back in recent weeks.[LNB]But Irvine has defended his decision, insisting the 22-year-old was "not quite ready" for life in the Championship.[LNB]"Neal needed to go out on loan," Irvine told the Lancashire Evening Post. "He missed all of last season through injury and when I looked at him during pre-season training I didn't think he was quite ready.[LNB]"He'll come back to us in January and hopefully be close to getting in our team."[LNB][LNB]
