Preston have agreed a deal with Barnsley for the transfer of striker Iain Hume. The Canadian frontman has impressed on loan at Deepdale and will now make the permanent switch for an undisclosed fee. North End chairman Maurice Lindsay said: "It has been obvious for some time we have wanted to make Iain's move to Deepdale a permanent one. "During his emergency loan spell Iain's effervescent qualities and energy brought something different to our squad. I am delighted we have been able to come to a financial agreement with Barnsley and Iain himself. "We cannot complete the paperwork on the deal until New Year`s Day, however we have finalised arrangements now in order to make sure Iain is available for us for the trip to Crystal Palace on Monday."
