Hayes keen to turn things around

Preston striker Paul Hayes admits he has found life tough at Deepdale but is determined to help fire the club to npower Championship safety. The 27-year-old arrived from Scunthorpe last summer but was sent out on loan to Barnsley, although he is now back in Phil Brown's squad and could face the Iron at Glanford Park on Saturday. Preston are rock bottom of the table and lie six points adrift of safety. Hayes said: "It's been a very frustrating six months for me, not playing regular football is something I haven't really encountered in my career. "That happens in your career and in football. The ones who succeed make sure it's a quick turnaround and that you're not long out the picture and you're playing regularly. "Purely and simply my aim is to make sure this team wins matches for the rest of the season."
