[LNB]Hayes missed only one league match all season, and Ferguson said: "The lad knows the Championship. He struck up a good partnership with (Gary) Hooper last year and before that Billy Sharp.[LNB] [LNB][LNB] "So we're really pleased to get him on board. He can play two or three different positions. He's a very intelligent player, he can get you a goal and also create things." [LNB]However Ferguson is not confident young Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck, who made eight appearances for Preston on loan last season before returning to Old Trafford with a knee injury, will agree to another loan deal at Deepdale.
