Gardner impressed by North End

Ricardo Gardner believes Preston's position at the foot of the table is false and is confident he can play a part in their bid for Championship survival. The Jamaica international became reunited with North End boss Phil Brown when he joined on a month's loan from Bolton earlier this week. He went straight into the starting line-up for Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat to Leeds and is edging closer to full fitness after a knee injury. Gardner told PNE Player: "I am coming here to try and enjoy it and help to go up the league where they deserve. "Playing like that against Leeds shows they don't deserve to be at the bottom of the table. "I have been out with a knee problem, they have done a clean out on my knee. But I have put that behind me and have come to Preston to get some games and to help them climb up that table."
