Preston boss Darren Ferguson insisted he will tread carefully with defender Sean St Ledger as he recovers from injury.
The Republic of Ireland international has yet to feature this season due to a hamstring strain but his return cannot come soon enough.
The Lilywhites are bottom of the npower Championship after two dismal defeats at the hands of Doncaster and Swansea.
Ferguson said: "Sean is a difficult one because he has only trained twice and I have got such a small squad I can't really risk players.
"I feel that you have got to have at least a week's training when it's a hamstring because if he does it properly it`s two months and I can't afford that to happen."
