Ferguson slams `unprofessional' Preston

Preston manager Darren Ferguson lamented his unprofessional players as they had to hang on to secure a 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace at Deepdale. A Jon Parkin brace - including his 100th club goal - and a third from Keith Treacey had helped North End hold a 3-1 half-time lead with Owen Garvan having levelled for Palace. Skipper Callum Davidson added a fourth from the penalty spot before the Eagles fought back with goals from Andy Dorman (69) and James Vaughan from the spot with 10 minutes left to set up a tense finale. Ferguson said: "It's never dull. Up until 4-1 I was very pleased, after that absolute it was rubbish, hanging on when we were so comfortable. "We work on both sides of the game and I cannot accept two free headers. To be fair the first one [from Dorman] was a stunner. But at least we've won so that's the main thing. "So many good things happened but our defending takes away from that. I don't like ranting and raving. I didn't feel comfortable at 4-1 which is ridiculous. You can't be having free headers from 10 yards in this league. Someone's lost concentration and a free header from 12 yards from Dorman changes the game. Everyone was getting tense. We have to be more professional."
