Ferguson seeks pick-me-up

Preston boss Darren Ferguson admits he must pick his players up ahead of Saturday's trip to Coventry. North End were bundled out of the Carling Cup in a 2-1 defeat at Wigan on Wednesday after two late goals from the home side. It was another blow to Ferguson's side, who have lost six of their opening seven npower Championship fixtures and now face Coventry and Leeds away within the space of four days. "We have got to pick the players up," said Ferguson. "We have got Coventry and then Leeds but I am confident, especially after the performance at Wigan. "It was a far, far better performance than we got from Saturday, there was more energy, more urgency and we have got that in the team."
