Ferguson optimistic over Preston form

Preston boss Darren Ferguson is confident his side can soon start climbing the npower Championship table. North End have struggled badly all season and Saturday's 1-1 draw at Bristol City left them just one place above the relegation zone. Yet Ferguson took great heart from Saturday's display at Ashton Gate and believes they can head into this week's double-header at Deepdale against Barnsley and Hull in confident mood. He said: "You don't want there to be getting a gap or you will be playing catch up all of the time. "But as I said to my players if we get to that standard nine-times-out-of-ten we will win games. "I have always maintained that if you win two or three on the bounce you can move up the table quickly or move and make a difference."
