Ferguson in bullish mood

Preston manager Darren Ferguson is confident his side have the qualities needed to pull away from the Championship relegation zone. North End are five points clear of the bottom three with four games remaining for them to secure an 11th successive season in English football's second tier. Ferguson feels he and his players have the necessary attributes for the pressurised situation the Deepdale club find themselves in. He told the Lancashire Evening Post: "I'm used to being involved in things at this stage of the season, although at the other end of the table. "Most of the players here should be used to playing in big games too. Again that is at the other end of the table because last year they got into the play-offs. "Hopefully that experience will get us through to where we want to be."
