Ferguson hopes for James boost

Preston manager Darren Ferguson believes loan duo Matt James and Josh King will be short-term absentees following the ankle injuries they picked up in Saturday's defeat at Burnley. Neither player will be fit to face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday but Ferguson is hopeful James could be back in time to face Norwich this weekend. Ferguson said: "Matt has had two scans and the results were both positive. Neither showed a break or any ligament damage. "He's going for a third scan and if he gets the all-clear, amazingly he could be fit for Saturday. "Josh hasn't had his scan yet. He was in too much pain to have it done at the weekend. But we're thinking two or three weeks for him."
