Ferguson fury at Friend

Preston manager Darren Ferguson pointed an accusing finger at referee Kevin Friend after Burnley edged a thrilling derby clash 4-3. Ferguson saw his men establish a 3-1 lead after 70 minutes as Jon Parkin added to earlier goals from Adam Barton and Keith Treacy. But Chris Iwelumo, who opened the scoring, netted twice more in the closing stages after Billy Jones' dismissal to complete his hat-trick before substitute Jay Rodriguez headed home the winner. Ferguson fumed: "The referee has done as much as he can to win the game for Burnley. The sending off was a disgrace and never in my life have I seen a sending off like that. The only think I was thinking at 3-1 was that it could have been more. "But even with 10 men you don't expect to lose a game from there. All credit to Iwelumo though for his hat-trick, it was a great strike to get them back in it. "We were in control of the game and I was disappointed it was only two at half-time. In terms of football there's only one team that's played but we've got nothing out of it."
