Ferguson announces Hume swoop

14 September 2010 23:30
Preston boss Darren Ferguson revealed he has agreed a loan deal for Barnsley striker Iain Hume following North End's 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest. Jon Parkin's 42nd-minute strike put Preston in control but highly-rated midfielder Lewis McGugan struck twice in the final quarter to heap misery on the Lillywhites. Yet there was at least some positive news when Ferguson revealed afterwards: "I'm going to sign Iain Hume, subject to a medical, on Friday in a 93-day loan deal with a view to a permanent deal. "He's got good experience in the league, he can score goals in this league and can play right wing, left wing and up front. He's a good player."
