Fergie Jnr Charged

14 September 2010 13:16
Darren Ferguson has followed in the family footsteps by being charged for the FA for improper language as well as using abusive behaviour and or language towards the referee in Saturday's match at Burnley. Ferguson basically lambasted referee Keith Friend for his performance during the match, in the tunnel afterwards and through the media in post match interviews. No surprises really that the ref has reported Fergie to the FA who have come up with their usual charge sheet. The referees these days are all about respect but it's pretty hard to respect anyone who had such a hurrendous performance with erroneous decisions affecting both sides on Saturday. Unfortunately, Fergie has a two month suspended ban hanging over him from last season when he similarly had a problem with an official at a Peterborough club. Fergie has until Thursday to respond. After the gentle reigns of Irvine and Simpson, from what I can remember this is the first time our gaffer has been up before the FA since Billy Davies and even compares to the time when Moyes stormed the stand at Forest in protest at the referee by telling his assessor he would be giving the ref 0/10 on his feedback sheet and never wanted him to ref a Preston match again. More enws to follow on whether Fergie decides to dispute the charge or whether the FA take mitigating circumstances into effect such as the pretty poor display of the official in charge.
