Preston needed extra time to sneak past League Two side Bradford City in the second round of the League Cup. Preston boss Darren Ferguson was releived more than anything after his side managed to squeeze past Bradford at Valley Parade. The home side had knocked out Nottingham Forest in the previous round. Paul Coutts put Preston in the lead just before half time with a 25 yard efford which snook in past the keeper. The League Two outfit then managed to force an equaliser through Speight int he last ten minutes forcing the match into extra time. Treacy who has been called up to the latest Irish squad managed to score a cracking left footed 25 yard effort int he 109th minute to book Preston's place into the third round where they exited this competition last year against Spurs.
