Exit door closed at Deepdale - Lindsay

Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay insists that no players will be allowed to leave the club as they bid to avoid relegation to League One.

North End are rock-bottom of the npower Championship and lie 11 points from safety with 13 matches remaining.

Phil Brown has yet to taste victory since arriving at Deepdale last month and Lindsay insists that, despite enquiries from clubs, there will be no departures.

He told the club's official website: "We have had several phone calls from different clubs asking us to let some of our players go out on loan.

"The answer has been no every time and we want to make it quite clear to our supporters that we are not interested in any monies whatsoever offered to us by clubs who are trying to take our players on loan.

"We are in a terrific battle to try and maintain our championship status. We are not going to do anything to weaken our chances."
