The game was hastily arranged after pressure was put on with both sets of fans always looking forward to an annual fixture which brings in much needed funds for Bamber Bridge.
In years gone by this game could prove a tricky encounter with Preston only ever being comfortable with teams that were certain to do well in whatever division they were playing with.
Westley is building his team on a defence. He has too as he has no strikers. Correction he has one decent striker but he is training in a gym in Rossendale. The defence failed to hold the home side as Atherton put Brig in the lead.
In fairness Preston equalised within five minutes through David Amoo who is just starting to get some game time. Preston could and should have scored more but were a little wasteful in front of goal. It is some sort of positive that Preston managed to create chances against a non-league outfit.
